Recently, our Mecoil technicians – specialists in training – were guests at Buzzi Unicem‘s historic headquarters of Settimello, for a two-day course on Lubrication best practices.

A dense program with topics developed in order to inform and enrich the knowledge of the employees operating in the field of Maintenance, issues that have become more and more compelling for the operation of strategic machines.

Giuseppe Adriani during the lecture

We had an attentive and lively audience, with about 20 attendees coming from various locations in Italy, particularly many figures responsible for the management of large plants (in some cases we can use the term “giants”), where the role of lubricants and their wise management are fundamental in order to avoid possible mechanical failures. The management of lubricants, including greases, has also become a key issue in terms of sustainability.

The aim of the course was therefore to stimulate greater attention to be devoted to this strategic fluid asset, with the goals of achieving a longer service life and reducing replacement interventions, in order to obtain significant efficiency gains. The course stimulated many questions and curiosity, creating interest in the attendees to participate in our MLT-1 course with its optional final exam.

In the evening, to “catch our breath”, we headed to the historic center of Florence, where we took the opportunity to have a hearty convivial dinner – made even tastier by the wise use of Tuscan olive oil, which replaced the synthetic oils we’ve been talking about all day!
